Growing Up Story

If one word could describe Atasha’s childhood, it would be simple–not because she was ordinary, but because she grew up with such fond memories of love, laughter, and the comforting chaos of family gatherings and everyday moments from the people around her. Despite the simplicity of her life, Atasha herself is quite the peculiar child; as she would often indulge in reading I Wonder Why? books, and never missing the chance to draw at any given opportunity. The days of her childhood seemed endless, but every moment of it slowly stitched into her story of becoming who she is today.

However, not every chapter was an easy hill to climb. There came times where the world felt a little heavier, where she would wonder if she had a place where she belonged.

But, then she found comfort in her silly little internet niches–from doujinshi panels that made her laugh too much in the morning, to fictional men like gojo satoru who she loved very much, to games that became her second home, and to the online communities she’s part of that reminded her that she’s not alone in her world. Although they seemed like little things, these interests of hers became the constellations in the sky that guided her into becoming who she is today.

Her teenage years passed like turning pages of a well-loved manhwa. There were afternoons spent crafting the randomest of things, late nights spent playing video games or calling close friends, and moments that seemed ordinary but would later become her treasured core memories. Atasha met people that understood her interests, and learned more about the world and discovered that sometimes, growing up often means outgrowing old versions of yourself and making peace with change.

Now, as Atasha celebrates her 18th birthday, she looks back at the roads she’s walked–both the sunny and stormy ones alike. The child who had big dreams has become someone who continues to make those dreams a reality. Some dreams may have changed, and the world may look different than it did before, but one thing remains the same about Atasha; and that is her heart continues to hope, learn, and grow.

And as her next chapter begins, Atasha steps forward carrying the dreams of her childhood, ready to discover the world as a whole.
