Our Story
We are excited to share a special chapter of our lives with you. Our love story began many years ago in high school. I’m Carl, and my partner is Mira. Although we first crossed paths when I was in grade 5 and she was in grade 6, it wasn't until we were in third and fourth year that fate brought us together through dance.
As a member of the YDT Crew, I often saw Mira attending our practice sessions. One day, I needed a jacket for a performance, and since Mira always had one, I borrowed it from her. That simple act sparked a deeper connection. Mira began joining our training sessions while waiting for her parents to pick her up. Despite the strict rules at our Christian school against relationships, we kept ours a secret, frequently facing scrutiny and getting called into the guidance office.
One of the most memorable moments of our relationship occurred at the JS Prom. Despite feeling unwell, Mira attended because it was a significant event for her as a senior. I can still picture her in that stunning dark blue dress with silver accents, which caught the attention of our teachers. They scolded us for being too close, but our bond remained strong despite the challenges.
As our love blossomed, we faced more obstacles, especially when Mira’s parents discovered us. We were often caught dating, and her mother even asked me to stay away. Yet, our love endured. After high school, we transitioned to college—Mira at Benilde and I at FEU. I made it a point to visit her at La Salle, sneaking into her library in my FEU uniform. Together, we explored Manila, balancing our studies and our time together.
We created unforgettable memories, including our first out-of-town trip to Cebu and Bohol and our first international adventure to Hong Kong. We celebrated milestones like purchasing our own car and investing in a house and lot in Pampanga, continuously building our life together.
Ultimately, I proposed to Mira in Japan, in a peaceful moment filled with tears and laughter. As we embark on this next chapter, we invite you to be part of our special day. Our love story continues to inspire us, and we look forward to sharing this joyful occasion with you.

A dedicated and compassionate individual, known for his strong values and commitment to those around him. As the firstborn in his family, he completed his elementary education at Pura V. Kalaw, laying a solid foundation for his future. He pursued a degree in BSBA Marketing Management and currently excels as a Program Control Services Analyst.
Carl is not only hard-working but also deeply caring, embodying the qualities of a truly good person. He enjoys online gaming and traveling, which reflects his adventurous spirit, while his love for dogs and fish showcases his nurturing side. His primary love language is words of affirmation, highlighting his appreciation for meaningful connections. Family is at the heart of who he is; he values time spent with loved ones and prioritizes their well-being above all else.
Mira Karina Manlapaz Basuel
A dynamic individual with a passion for cooking, swimming in the ocean, and traveling. As a middle child, she has developed resilience and adaptability, embracing new experiences with enthusiasm. Mira graduated with a degree in Human Resource Management and currently serves as a team leader in her current work, where her street smarts and keen business acumen shine.
Known for her creativity and practicality, she approaches every endeavor with the goal of ensuring she is well-compensated for her efforts. Mira's blend of determination and resourcefulness drives her success in both her personal and professional life.
A loving partner to Carl, she cherishes the journey they are building together. While she has a dominant personality, Mira is soft-hearted, with acts of service as her primary love language, reflecting her caring nature.
As they embark on this new chapter, Mira looks forward to celebrating love, family, and the exciting adventures that lie ahead with Carl by her side.
