Our Love Story
Five years ago, on a lazy Sunday morning, Gieniel scrolled through his Facebook feed, sipping coffee. He came across a post by someone he didn’t know — a hilarious post about their mother pig with its piglets. That’s when he knew Ericka. After too much exchanging of conversations, jokes, information and chats; there’s something about the two parties longing for each other’s presence every day until such quote occurred “Love is not about finding someone to live with, but someone you can’t imagine living without.”
Something about it struck a chord with her. She paused and commented, “Isn’t that the truth? I think it’s one of the most beautiful things anyone can experience.”
Curious, Ericka clicked on his profile.
And just like that, a conversation began. What started as a casual exchange about their pig turned into daily back-and-forth messages. They bonded over their shared views on relationships, life, and the world. They talked about everything — from their favorite movies to their childhood memories. And slowly, over time, the bond between them deepened.
Four months later, Gieniel is coming back home from his job at sea. He suggested they meet in person. Ericka was nervous, but the chemistry they’d built online was undeniable. They first met at Ericka’s house where Gieniel went at her to make a move in their first date, and as soon as they sat down beside a river fall in their local area, it felt like they’d known each other for years. It wasn’t just the witty banter anymore; it was the comfort, the warmth, the spark.
Meanwhile, Ericka’s friends had been following the whole thing. They couldn’t help but notice how Gieniel and Ericka's relationship was evolving into something real.
Over the next five years, Ericka and Gieniel’s connection grew stronger, and so did the people around them towards them like friends, cousins, relatives, and even their pets “dogs”. The couple met each other often every time Gieniel comes home from seafaring, supporting each other through life’s ups and downs. They became best friends, sharing holidays, late-night conversations, and countless memories.
One evening, as both of their families and relatives sat down in one area to talk about marriage, sipping wine, sharing food and drinks. Gieniel turned to Ericka as his voice was full of emotion, kneeled in one knee and offered a ring in front of everybody and asked her hand in marriage.
She undoubtedly said yes.

“You know,” he said, “it all started with one simple comment on a Facebook post. Who would’ve thought?”
Ericka smiled, squeezing his hand. “And now I can’t imagine my life without you.”
