Our Love Story

Their love story beautifully illustrates how technology can transcend geographical barriers, allowing communication to blossom in the most unexpected ways. Thea and Jay have started with casual exchanges through an online dating app in June 2019, until they moved to FB messenger.

Their series of conversations had developed a strong foundation of friendship until deepening conversation with shared experience and witty banters. Antipolo and Las Piñas is never a problem to take a step and plan their first meet up in person in August 2019 at SM Megamall where they watched Hello, Love, Goodbye and shared a meal at Bacolod Inasal. Their connection serves as a testament to the idea that even in our digital age, hearts are separated by miles, yet, proving that love knows no boundaries. It doesn't stop there, allowing time and beautiful weather is the key to creating wonderful memories.

Just in time on December 7, 2019, Thea and Jay stood before the Antipolo Cathedral to pray and thank God for all the grace and blessings. Through those prayers and with the intercession of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage, Thea has finally said "YES" to Jay. Marking a significant step in their journey, and allowing God to be at the center of our relationship.  felt a strong spiritual connection, affirming that God was guiding their journey together.

However, the pandemic soon posed unprecedented challenges at the beginning of their relationship. Lockdowns and uncertainties tested their commitment. They were given the chance to spend time even during weekends and the lockdown has been lifted.

Interesting about their relationship is they prioritize quality time filled with laughter, good food, and deep conversations. Despite the challenges of distance, Jay makes a point to visit Thea for her safety, enduring the tiring travel from Las Pinas to Antipolo. They cherish dining at Tamerlane, enjoying kamayan-style meals, followed by relaxation at Seisha Coffee, where Jay savors his coffee jelly frappe and Thea enjoys her iced caramel macchiato or strawberry banana smoothie. On Sundays, they make it a point to attend mass together, expressing gratitude for their blessings and praying for the strength of their relationship, which has become an essential part of their routine.

From being a food buddy to a travel buddy, Jay and Thea share an adventurous motorcycle ride through exploring locations that shows nature's beauty, including the refreshing landscapes of Tanay and Tagaytay, as well as quality time with Inay in Batangas. Their beach days are especially meaningful, as they celebrate anniversaries and birthdays in stunning destinations like Puerto Galera, Zambales, La Union, and El Nido. Amidst their hectic weekdays, filled with work and responsibilities, they eagerly anticipate their time together, which embodies the sense of rest and tranquility they both cherish—a concept they lovingly refer to as "pahinga."

Supporting each other is what they love to celebrate and take pride in their achievements, but they also face challenges that test their patience and understanding. They see challenges, such as communication issues and adapting future plans, as opportunities for growth. Each difficulty teaches them valuable lessons that deepen their love, reinforcing the idea that overcoming obstacles together strengthens their relationship and enhances their appreciation for joyful moments.

Fast forward to December 7, 2023, as Thea and Jay stayed at La View Resort in Quezon Province to celebrate a significant milestone—their fourth anniversary as a couple. They took a moment to reminisce about their early struggles—the long distances, the time differences, and their individual aspirations. They realized the longevity offered to them and blessing in their relationship highlights everything.

In a moment that took Thea by surprise while eating chips, Jay knelt down, his heart racing as he asked her to marry him. Thea fell into tears, her answer bursting forth like a melody from her heart. “Of course! Yes!” she exclaimed, her voice filled with joy and sincerity.
Jay’s eyes sparkled with hope and love as he invited her to embark on the journey of a lifetime by his side. Their anniversary now became a cherished date, etched in their hearts as the beginning of their forever—a celebration not only of their love but also of the dreams they aimed to fulfill together.

Thea and Jay were enthusiastically preparing for their wedding, with the pamamanhikan scheduled for October 15, 2024. This joyous occasion would also celebrate the birthdays of Thea and Jay’s mother, making it a heartfelt family gathering. The evening was filled with fun and excitement as they expressed their intention to begin a new chapter as a married couple. Thea and Jay shared their wedding plans, further igniting their families' enthusiasm and they are surrounded by loved ones who offered guidance for their lifelong commitment. Indeed, wonderful memories have been shared with a strong foundation of support as they embark on their journey into married life.

True love waits truly resonated with them throughout their journey, which was not always smooth and was filled with distance, aspirations, and the complexities of life. Now, in their mid-30s, their long-held dreams have become a reality. They invite you to celebrate this milestone with them and express gratitude for being a part of their personal journey as a couple.
