Our Love Story

Once upon a time, in the lush, vibrant province of Daet, where emerald hills meet the serene coastline, lived a girl named Jewel, a law student with a full plate of responsibilities. Not only was she deeply committed to her studies, but she also took on the crucial role of caring for her younger half-sisters. Despite the challenges of balancing her academic and family obligations, she longed for a love that would make her feel cherished and prioritized.

Meanwhile, far to the southwest, in Cavite, Jeizar was a dedicated student at the Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific (MAAP) in Bataan. Though his life was rooted in Cavite, his rigorous academic schedule and seafaring career left him yearning for a meaningful connection that could bring joy and stability to his life.

On November 15, 2015, their paths crossed online through a mutual friend named Dhavy. Dhavy, who knew both Jewel’s nurturing spirit and Jeizar’s earnest nature, believed they might be a perfect match. As Jewel and Jeizar began to chat, their conversations revealed a profound connection. Jewel’s dedication to her studies and her selfless care for her family stood out to Jeizar, while her warmth and strength inspired him.

Jeizar was captivated by Jewel’s beauty and intellect, he realized that she was someone who could bring joy and balance to his life.

So he persistently asked to meet Jewel, hoping to turn their online connection into something more tangible. However, Jewel, busy with her studies and family responsibilities, was hesitant and declined his invitations several times. However, Jeizar’s unwavering dedication and sincere interest never faltered.

Determined to turn their virtual connection into a real relationship, Jeizar decided to make a bold move. He traveled to Naic, Cavite, to meet her for the first time. This was a significant step, reflecting his commitment and desire to deepen their connection.

Their first face-to-face meeting occurred in Naic, Cavite during Jewel’s vacation. Though the encounter was brief—only about 5 minutes—but it left a profound impact on Jeizar. Jewel’s genuine smile and the warmth of their brief interaction struck Jeizar deeply, solidifying his feelings and hope for their future together.

Determined to build on this initial connection, Jeizar decided to court Jewel. Over the next two years, he made a steadfast effort to win her heart. Despite the demands of his studies at MAAP and his seafaring responsibilities, Jeizar consistently made time for Jewel. He traveled to Daet whenever he could, planning thoughtful gestures and sending handwritten letters, reflected his deep commitment and sincere affection.

Jewel was touched by Jeizar’s dedication and the lengths he had gone to for her. All the efforts he put into traveling to see her despite his busy life. His sincere actions made her feel truly valued and prioritized, strengthening her belief in the potential of their relationship.

Their love was tested by the distance, but it only made their connection more resilient. They counted down the days until their next visit, cherishing every moment they could spend together. Their dreams began to intertwine, and plans for a future where they could be together became more vivid and achievable.

Through their love, Jeizar and Jewel discovered that true connection transcends physical distance. They learned that love is not just about being close, but about understanding and supporting each other, no matter how far apart they might be. Their story became a testament to the idea that when two hearts are meant to be together, no distance is too great to keep them apart.
