Our Love Story

The Love Story of Richard Dean & Denchica

Our story began in 2014 when we were both just 18 years old - young, hopeful, and completely unaware that a simple meeting would one day change our lives forever.

We met in a place where neither of us expected to find love. Richard enrolled at a training school where Denchica was working. On that very first day, Richard felt something special. He became interested in Denchica immediately, though she had no idea.

From that day on, Richard quietly and consistently found ways to get her attention. Every year, he would greet her on her birthday, at Christmas, and on New Year’s Day. His messages were simple, but they were constant. Year after year, he remained present.

Despite all of Richard’s efforts, nothing seemed to happen. Denchica was focused on her goals she wanted to achieve before entering a relationship.

What Richard didn’t know was that although Denchica never entertained his attempts, she remembered them. She remembered his name. She remembered the greetings. She remembered the young man who never stopped showing kindness, sincerity, and consistency.

Then one day, during a town celebration, Denchica saw Richard again. This time, the face matched the name she had remembered all those years. Because of those years of gentle persistence and “papansin,” she recognized him instantly. And from that moment, a new chapter began.

Long before their relationship started, Denchica had been praying to God. She prayed that when the right person came into her life, she would be ready. She prayed to finish her studies, build her career, and become the woman God was preparing her to be.

She also prayed for a man who loved God - A God-pursuing man who would lead her closer to Him. Through every season of waiting, she surrendered her desires and trusted God’s perfect timing. She prayed for a man who would love her deeply, faithfully, and purely.

For years, Denchica waited patiently for her first relationship. Often, she would pray that her first love would also be her last.

When Richard finally became part of her life, it felt like an answered prayer.

But their relationship was not perfect. In fact, it did not begin easily. They faced challenges, misunderstandings, and difficult seasons. There were moments when they were separated and uncertain about what the future would hold.

Yet through every trial, they continued to seek God’s guidance. Time and time again, they found themselves together in church, praying for wisdom, strength, and direction. Even during their hardest moments, they never stopped believing that God was working in their story.

Looking back, they can now see that every season had a purpose, the years of waiting, the years of persistence, the lessons learned through struggles, and the prayers whispered in faith.

What started with a young man’s simple greetings eventually became a love built on patience, perseverance, faith, and God’s perfect timing.

Today, Richard Dean and Denchica stand before God and their loved ones, grateful for every chapter of their journey. Their story is proof that God’s plans are always greater than our own and that sometimes the most beautiful love stories are written slowly, one faithful step at a time.

And on this very day, as they celebrate not only their wedding but also their sixth anniversary as a couple, they are reminded of God’s faithfulness throughout their journey. From a simple greeting of “Hi, Ma’am” to a lifetime commitment before God, every chapter has led them to this moment.

After all these years, the boy who never stopped saying “Hi, Ma’am” finally found his way to the woman he had been praying for.

And the woman who patiently waited and trusted God’s timing found the man she had been praying for all along.

Today, they no longer walk separate paths. Hand in hand, heart to heart, and with God at the center of their marriage, they begin the greatest chapter of their lives.

And now, together, they begin their forever.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor… Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”

With God as the third strand, Richard Dean and Denchica’s love story continues, not just for a lifetime, but for His glory.

  • May I invite a "PLUS ONE" to the event?

As much as we would love to accommodate all our friends and family, we have a limited number of guests due to the intimate nature of our celebration and the capacity of our venue.

Please understand that this event is strictly by invitation only and we can only accommodate the number of seat/s indicated in the invitation you have received. We appreciate your understanding!

  • What if I RSVP'd but cannot attend?

We would love to have you at our wedding, but we understand that there are circumstances beyond our control. However, please let us know as soon as possible so we can reallocate your seat/s.

  • I said "NO" to the RSVP but I had a change of plans-I can attend now! What should I do?

While we love all of the children in our lives, we have decided to keep our wedding ceremony and reception an adults-only event with the exception of those in our entourage.

  • Am I allowed to take pictures and/or videos during the ceremony?

We request everyone to keep the ceremony camera-free. While our I Do’s are unplugged, our reception is not and definitely as a couple who loves pictures, you’ll get tons of options to take your pictures. We prepared for this event wholeheartedly.
