Our Love Story

The first time I saw Brenda at work, I remember thinking to myself, “Wow… she’s beautiful.” I even joked in my head that dating an Asian woman was on my bucket list someday. I never imagined that simple thought would lead me to meeting the love of my life.

At first, we just talked casually and tried getting to know each other as friends. But little by little, our conversations became the best part of my day. I found myself always wanting to talk to her more, spend more time with her, and learn everything about her.

One day, I finally asked her out, and honestly, that was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

The more I got to know Brenda, the more I fell in love with her. She’s sweet, caring, thoughtful, and the kind of person who always puts others before herself. One of the things that touched me the most was seeing how much she loves her family. The way she cares for them, supports them, and gives so much of herself showed me the kind of heart she has. It’s rare to meet someone so genuine.

She made me feel loved in the simplest ways, and without even realizing it, she became my peace, my comfort, and my home.

By November 2024, I already knew in my heart that she was the woman I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. I bought a ring, and in December we traveled to the Philippines together. Before anything else, I asked her parents for their blessing because I wanted to do things the right way.

Brenda had absolutely no idea what was coming.

On New Year’s Eve, surrounded by her family, I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me. I still remember the look on her face — completely shocked, emotional, and crying happy tears. Seeing her that night is a memory I’ll carry with me forever.

In that moment, I knew I made the best decision of my life.

On August 1, 2025, we officially became husband and wife in the United States with her dad and my family there to celebrate with us. It was simple, intimate, and perfect in its own way. But deep in our hearts, we always wished we could also celebrate our marriage in the Philippines, surrounded by all the people we love.

Now, as we celebrate our first wedding anniversary, we are blessed to have a second wedding celebration here in the Philippines — this time with her complete family and mine together. Having everyone here makes this moment even more meaningful and unforgettable for us.

For us, this isn’t just another wedding. It’s a celebration of love, family, and the journey we’ve shared together. Being able to renew our promises on our first anniversary, surrounded by the people who matter most to us, feels like one of the greatest blessings of our lives.

Today, I still look at Brenda the same way I did when I first fell for her — with love, admiration, and gratitude. She is my wife, my best friend, my safe place, and my forever.

And no matter how many years pass, I’ll always choose her, again and again.
