Our Love Story

Our story began with a simple high school crush.
I first saw him when he visited our school to see his best friend. Back then, I already liked him and even tried to get his attention, but he completely ignored me. At the time, I never imagined that the boy who didn't notice me would one day become the love of my life.
Years later, in 2008, fate gave us another chance.
I was already in college studying Nursing when our high school held an alumni gathering. We met again, and because that little crush never really disappeared, I found a way to start a conversation. He was wearing sunglasses, and I teasingly told him, “This is the proper way to put down your shades.” It was a simple joke, but it became the beginning of something neither of us expected.
Not long after that night, we started dating. Within a week, we officially became a couple. We were both Nursing students then, full of dreams and plans for the future. I was also active in a performing arts group, and life felt exciting, hopeful, and full of possibilities.
Before graduation, we were blessed with our first child. It was a season filled with uncertainty, and we chose to keep our growing family private while we focused on finishing our studies. Despite the challenges, we both graduated and continued pursuing the future we dreamed of together.
Life, however, had different plans.
Because our priorities quickly shifted toward providing for our family, we were unable to take the board examination. Instead of pursuing the titles we once envisioned, we chose responsibility. I became a call center agent, while he worked as a medical representative. We were young parents, learning about life, love, sacrifice, and responsibility one day at a time.
The years that followed were far from easy.
We faced countless struggles, misunderstandings, financial difficulties, and challenges that tested our relationship over and over again. In 2014, we welcomed our second child into the world, bringing even more love and motivation to keep moving forward despite the hardships.
In 2017, he decided to take a different direction in his career. Then in 2019, I also embraced a new path and became a medical representative. Although our careers changed, the challenges remained. There were moments when life felt overwhelming. Moments when we questioned everything. Moments when we almost gave up and chose to walk away from each other.
But somehow, no matter how difficult things became, we always found our way back.
Through every setback, every sacrifice, every lesson, and every victory, we continued choosing each other.
Then in 2024, we were blessed with our youngest daughter. By then, I had already accepted that marriage might never happen for us. After everything we had been through, I thought our love story would simply remain what it had always been—imperfect, complicated, and enduring.
But he never stopped believing in us.
He showed me that love is not about having a perfect story. It is about choosing the same person every single day, despite the struggles, despite the obstacles, and despite the countless reasons to give up.
And after 18 years of growing together, building a family, surviving life's storms, and creating a love story that is uniquely ours, he asked me the question I never thought I would hear anymore:
“Will you marry me?”
And just like every time life brought us back to each other, my answer was easy.
Yes. Always yes.
