Our Love Story

Who would have thought that a girl from the busy streets of Taguig and a guy from the quiet town of Tapaz, Capiz would ever find each other? Certainly not us! But in 2020, right in the middle of a global pandemic when the world stood still, destiny (and our mutual friend, Luige) decided to play matchmaker.

It all started with the Simple Hi/Hello! Neither of us was actively looking for love, but that small exchange quickly turned into daily conversations, endless laughter, and the beginning of a lifetime connection.

When the time finally came for us to meet for the first time, it wasn't a typical first date. Fresh off a ship from work and still getting our land legs back, we found ourselves taking that first step from an online connection into something real. What started as a simple “Hi” slowly became a relationship worth fighting for.

Our love story was never the easiest one. From the very beginning, distance was already part of our journey. With work taking us away from home and eventually bringing us to different countries, we learned that loving each other meant more than simply being together physically.

There were days filled with low signals, busy schedules, different time zones, missed calls, and moments when all we wanted was to be beside each other. There were countless goodbyes, long waits, and days when a simple video call had to take the place of an actual hug. But through it all, we kept choosing each other.

We both had careers and responsibilities that took us far from home, but no matter how many miles came between us, we never stopped making our relationship a priority. We became each other's source of comfort, motivation, laughter, and strength. We celebrated each other's small victories, supported each other's dreams, and held on through the difficult days.

Then came August 31, 2024.

Surrounded by our beloved family and friends at Oton Resort, we took another unforgettable step in our journey. A simple question, a heartfelt “YES,” and a promise to continue choosing each other through whatever life brings next. Looking back, our story has been filled with voyages, long flights, different countries, countless video calls, changing schedules, and thousands of miles between us. But those miles never became stronger than the love we built together.

After years of choosing each other despite the distance, our long-awaited moment is finally here. Our wedding may be happening sooner than planned, but this is another step toward the future we’re building together.

We’ll continue to pursue our dreams, support each other, and someday leave the distance behind not just as husband and wife, but as a family, finally together. From two different places, two busy lives, and a love story that began with a simple “Hi ” we made our way here together.
